On August 22, community members across Paulding County gathered for the Braly Scholarship Fundraiser and Award Dinner, which raised $30k to support scholarships for aspiring and current healthcare workers. Hosted at the Greystone Power Auditorium, guests enjoyed an evening of laughter, celebration and philanthropy.

Sheena Delille, a proud first-generation college graduate and current Physician Assistant student at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine – Georgia Campus, was recognized as a scholarship recipient. Additionally, longtime Paulding banking executive Genevieve Cole and owners of The Dallas New Era newspaper The Parker Family, were honored with the Community Impact Award.

The Braly Scholarship was established in 1978 to honor the life and work of the late Dr. S.U. Braly and has granted a total of 82 awards to 62 different recipients. Since 2025, The Braly Scholarship has partnered with Wellstar Foundation to help address the growing healthcare workforce shortage. Through your generosity, aspiring nurses and healthcare professionals pursuing LPN, RN and related careers will receive the financial support they need to learn, grow and serve patients in Paulding County.
