Wellstar Community Health recently partnered with Goodr and Paulding County Schools to host a food distribution event combined with education and outreach.
On November 4th, 2023, Wellstar Community Health hosted its largest Passport to Health in collaboration with Goodr, Paulding County School District, CareLink of Northwest Georgia, Giving Health, Paulding County Health Department, Cobb Douglas Public Health, and Wellstar Service Lines!
This event supported the promotion of health and wellness through education and free food distribution with the Goodr Mobile Grocery Store.
160 Paulding County students and their families received free groceries and health education on:
- Cardiac Health
- Stroke Awareness and Prevention
- Diabetes Care
- Prostate Cancer and free PSA screenings
- Colorectal Cancer and free FIT test distribution
- Sleep Health
- Healthy Eating
- Blood Pressure Checks
- Breast and Cervical Health
- Smoking Cessation
- Mental Health
- Vaccines and COVID-19 test kits
- Women’s Health
To address access to care gaps both CareLink of Northwest Georgia and Giving Health educated participants on primary care and mental health services. Six community members were assisted in establishing care they did not have prior to attending the event.
