Wellstar Foundation board has appointed new members to serve during the fiscal year 2025 term. Each of the following appointees share our commitment to enhance the health and well-being of every person we serve and to deliver world-class healthcare to every person, every time.

Joy Baker, MD
Dr. Baker is a Board-Certified general Obstetrician and Gynecologist in LaGrange, Georgia. Dr. Baker is the Director for Quality & Safety for the Women’s Health Service Line at Wellstar West GA Medical Center. She has worked in both urban and rural communities for over 10 years, after completing her medical school and residency training with honors at the Morehouse School of Medicine and Grady Health System.

David Bottoms
David Bottoms is President at The Bottoms Group and a Principal of TBX Benefit Partners, a subsidiary of The Bottoms Group focused exclusively on the unique employee benefit needs of employers with more than 5,000 employees.

Chris Durham
Bringing extensive experience in healthcare contracting and human resource management, Apollo MD co-founder Christopher Durham oversees operations as Chairman of the group. A graduate of Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, Mr. Durham has been a licensed attorney since 1994 and has previously served as legal counsel for corporations and individual physicians, dealing with such issues as compliance, risk management, contracts and collections.

Kelly Keappler
Kelly became CEO of Quintus Corporation in 2022 and leads all aspects of property management, development and investment. He joined the family business in 1996 and founded Quintus Development where he led projects through all phases of development from site acquisition through construction for more than 25 years.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a Georgia Real Estate license.

Leslie Olsen
Leslie Olsen chairs the Hospice Advisory Committee this year after serving as vice chair during 2023- 2024. A retired nurse, Leslie owns Rising Star Equestrian where she teaches riding lessons, including those with a therapeutic purpose.

Courtney Showell
Courtney has over 25 years of experience with PWC in providing business advice to clients. His experience within the healthcare industry is focused primarily on hospitals, academic medical centers and physician practices.

All new appointees began their term on July 1, 2024.
