Kensley has Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM). JDM is a rare autoimmune disease that causes the body to attack its own muscles, resulting in inflammation throughout the body. This in turn causes muscle weakness, pain and a skin rash. Since her diagnosis in 2023, Kensley has been receiving care at Wellstar Children’s Hospital of Georgia, including infusions every four weeks to help keep her body from attacking itself.

Kensley says her best days since her diagnosis would have to be the time she spent at Camp Joint Venture, a camp hosted by Wellstar Children’s Hospital of Georgia’s Child Life Team specifically for kids just like Kensley. She is already looking forward to going back this summer.

Your gift makes a difference for kids like Kensley. And, be sure to check out Kensley’s art available for a limited time on pizza boxes at the Pizza Joint!
