When Hurricane Helene hit, our Wellstar MCG Health and Children’s Hospital of Georgia team members stepped up, as they always do, to care for the communities we serve. Now, days later, the Augusta community is still navigating the aftermath.
Catastrophic damage from hurricane and tropical storm force winds and flooding caused by the storm have left many displaced and without power or access to food, water, gas and other basic essentials. The magnitude of devastation is heartbreaking – especially when it impacts us close to home.
This is where we, too, can step up and help support the caregivers who have remained on the front line of recovery, prioritizing care for patients while navigating the impact on their own homes and lives. Your support of the Team Member Emergency Assistance Fund will help provide relief for Wellstar team members who are temporarily unable to cover their normal expenses due to hurricane-related costs. This assistance could include paying a home or auto insurance deductible, covering unexpected childcare costs, medical costs or other housing-related bills, ensuring access to food, gas or water, and more.
